June is a busy month for us, kicking off with week-long visits from both of our parents (which has been great so far!), and followed by several concerts and a two-week trip to Arkansas. Not to mention, we’ve just moved into our new home and are in a perpetual state of “setting up,” a process that seems never-ending. Luckily, Spunky has adjusted quickly and provides constant entertainment and stress-relief for us both.

This Sunday, June 9th, Michelle and I will be playing a concert together! Along with Kevin and Iryna, we’ll be performing Mozart’s G minor Piano Quartet in Rolling Hills, CA. The trio will also play Ravel’s Trio in A minor. It’s so great – playing in a chamber group together brings us back to the days of the Bancroft Quartet at UNT, and especially to the Karbardino Quartet at CIM – where Michelle and I first met. Is there a more dorky environment in which to meet the love of your life than in a freshman-year string quartet? If anyone can beat that, let me know.

I’ve recently updated the Trio CĂ©leste website, and have been working on my Mom’s tutoring website as well. A website for Michelle is coming soon, as are updates to the CMOC website. I also have a few other exciting projects in the works, which I don’t have time to pursue full-on until the middle of July.

If you’re in the SoCal area, we’d love to see you at one of our upcoming concerts! The trio just played to a packed Winifred Smith Hall at UC Irvine in Concert II of IV of our Beethoven Trio Cycle project. We had a great time, and it seemed that the audience did too. You can find my performance schedule here.
